ReadyPEC First Aid, CPR & Emergency Preparedness for Older Adults

Would you know what to do if someone collapsed, stopped breathing, or had a medical emergency?

first aidReadyPEC will be offering practical, hands-on training in First Aid, CPR, and AED (automated external defibrillator) use for adults aged 60+. This is not a certification course—it’s designed to give you the confidence and skills to respond until emergency services arrive.

The training will be led by certified instructor Mike Bond in small groups of up to 12 participants, providing plenty of opportunity to ask questions and practise.

In addition to First Aid and CPR, participants will receive practical tips on household emergency preparedness, including simple ways to be ready for power outages, severe weather, and other emergencies.

Program details

  • Prince Edward County residents aged 60+
  • Small-group, hands-on learning (maximum 12 participants per session)
  • Sessions are 3-4 hours
  • 5 daytime sessions between September through November 2026 (dates to be announced)
  • Tentative locations (depending on interest) include Picton, Wellington, Consecon, and Demorestville.

Thanks to funding from Community Safety & Well-being Action Team, the cost has been heavily subsidized. A $10 registration fee will be required to reserve your place and help ensure full attendance.

Whether you live alone, with a partner, or simply want to be better prepared to help a family member, friend, or neighbour, this is an excellent opportunity to gain practical skills that could make a real difference.

Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged. Registrations open July 16, 2026.

This initiative is supported by funding from the Community Safety & Well-being Seniors Support Action Team and delivered in collaboration with The County Foundation, Community Care for Seniors, and the Rotary Club of Picton.
